Former Dior designer John Galliano has been given a suspended fine of 6,000 euros for using racist and anti-Semitic slurs.
The disgraced fashion star avoided jail for two outbursts in a Parisian cafe last February and October.
Galliano, who was convicted of “casting public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity” was not present to hear his sentence at the Palais de Justice in Paris today.

A senior minister in the Church of Ireland has announced he is in a civil partnership.
Rev Tom Gordon Dean of Leighlin Cathedral, Co Carlow, said he had the ceremony in July with his partner of more than 20 years.
According to the Irish Times, this is thought to be the first civil partnership for a serving Church of Ireland minister.
There are a number of Church of England clergy in civil partnerships, but the issue remains controversial.

An alleged cannibal in Russia has been arrested after confessing to stabbing, killing and then eating a 32-year-old man he met using a gay dating service.
The 21-year-old man, identified only as Ivan L, reportedly confessed to eating the gay man, identified as Roman E, in the city of Murmansk, in the extreme north-west of Russia.
The English-language Russian news agency RIA Novosti quotes Murmansk Investigation Committee chief Fyodor Bludenov as saying: “The defendant wanted to try eating at least ten people in the future.

Jedward’s tour manager has denied that the Irish twins are gay.
Liam McKenna told New magazine that despite speculation, the excitable duo like girls but won’t discuss sex on Celebrity Big Brother in case their grandmother finds out.
