Burnley Pride postponed until 2012

East Lancashire’s first gay Pride festival has been postponed until next year.
Organisers of Burnley Pride said it had been “too adventurous” to plan the event in time for September.
Instead, an organising committee has been formed with a view to holding the event next year.
Deb Bradshaw, chair of the Lancashire LGBT Group and one of the organisers, told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It would have been a little bit too adventurous to have got it up and running this year.

Teenager ‘murdered gay man after promising him sex’

A 17-year-old Lincolnshire boy has been accused of murdering a 67-year-old man after arranging to have sex with him.
Lincoln crown court heard that the teenager, who cannot be identified due his age, met David Cowley at Sleaford Rail Station in November last year and was driven by the older man to a remote spot at Ballast Pits off Mareham Lane.
BBC News reports that the teenager is said to have dragged Mr Cowley from his car before kicking and punching him. The older man was then suffocated and left face down in water.

A 17-year-old Lincolnshire boy has been accused of murdering a 67-year-old man after arranging to have sex with him.

A 22-year-old man from Keighley, West Yorkshire, has been jailed for six and a half years for a vicious attack on a lesbian couple.
Adrian Feather was said to have borne a grudge against Verona Benson and Tracey Williams after an incident in a pub, the Bradford Telegraph and Argus reports.
He saw the couple in the town centre on July 9th as they walked to an off-licence following a wedding reception.
